SolidWorks Design

Our design utilizes a combination of three main platforms. The bottom layer is a .0625’’ thick sheet of metal cut by our lab’s water jet cutter and this piece is essential in attaching our parts. The mid layer is our body and it protects our inner components from water shot out from competitor robots. This 4.5’’ tall, .1’’ thick enclosure is made with an open top frame to have easy access to our circuitry. Our final top layer is a clear acrylic firmly attached to the body with magnets. Our stands are in place to hold the five flame sensors at the specified 3-5’’ candle height and positioned evenly in our 180 degree front end. To avoid water spills and problems, we’ve attached the 100mL water bottle and water pump in a backpack style on our robot.
